Teaware for Berners Tavern 

Teaware designs for Berners Tavern, made specifially to serve their afternoon tea. Various details in the teaware reflect the rich history of the buildings which house Berners Tavern and the London Edition Hotel: 

The broken arrow and rod & serpent represent surgeon Henry Earle, who lived at no. 10. The keys and locks represent the Marsh, Sibbald & Co Bank vault, which stood on the site (no. 7). The paint brush, deer, swan and horse are similar to those painted by two painter/engravers who lived on the site: James Ward (no. 6) and John Jackson (no. 7). The sedan chair relates to the 'blue posts' pub, which stood on the corner of berners and eastcastle st - blue posts where the old symbol for places from where you could hail a sedan chair, like an ancient form of taxi rank.  

Scandal Water / Edition Hotel

This Tea set was designed for Scandal Water, an unconventional take on the afternoon tea at the London Edition Hotel, where five teas and five food pairings, each designed to perfectly complement one another have been created by Henrietta Lovell, founder of the acclaimed Rare Tea Co. and Phil Carmichael, Executive Chef at Berners Tavern. The tea set was produced by Freud.
