Workshops, Education & Art in Schools
Art Education makes up the majority of my participatory work and my experience in it is varied and comprehensive.
Most commonly I work with schools and develop a series of workshops based on the requirements of one; their ever changing contexts and objectives have made me confident at being flexible and reactive, and i’ve developed a large library of activities to draw upon.
Areas explored include:
- Exploring printmaking: Marbling, Cyanotyping, Screen Printing and Relief Printing
- Illustration
- Ways of drawing
- Creating images which respond to the architecture or values of the institution
- Continued professional development

One common feature of these projects is creating permanent artworks which are either influenced by, or involve the participants that I have worked with at the institution. In all instances I am responsible for devising, arranging materials and delivering workshops, and bring the experience of 12 years as a professional artist into the participatory contexts in which I work. Running CPD with staff is also commonplace and integrated into many of these projects.
